Safety Design Analysis of INVT GD600A Multi Drive Inverter
1、 STO safety torque shutdown, compliant with SIL2 safety level
Safe torque cutoff (STO) is the most fundamental and important safety function in industrial transmission systems. The INVT GD600A series comes standard with STO function, which meets the safety level requirements of IEC 61508 SIL2. This function can directly cut off the power output of the frequency converter in emergency situations, causing the motor to lose torque, preventing the equipment from starting unexpectedly, and effectively protecting the safety of operators and equipment.
2、 Built in DC fuse to block the fault propagation path
In traditional multi drive systems, a single inverter unit failure often affects the entire DC bus, resulting in a complete shutdown of the entire line. Each inverter unit of GD600A is equipped with a built-in DC fuse. When a short circuit fault occurs in one unit, the fuse will quickly melt, isolating the faulty unit from the DC bus and preventing the fault from spreading to other units, greatly reducing the scope of fault impact and shortening maintenance time.
3、 Independent air duct and three proof spray coating, suitable for harsh working conditions
Industrial sites often have harsh environments such as dust, humidity, and corrosive gases. GD600A adopts an independent air duct design to completely isolate the heat dissipation air duct from the electrical control chamber, effectively preventing pollutants from entering the inverter and causing short circuits or ignition. At the same time, all single boards adopt fully automatic three proof spraying technology, with uniform and stable coating, excellent moisture-proof, dustproof, and anti-corrosion capabilities, and can operate stably for a long time in harsh environments.
4、 Comprehensive reliability testing to ensure product stability and durability
INVT, as the first enterprise in the domestic industrial control industry to obtain the German TUV SUD ACT qualification, has established a comprehensive reliability testing system. GD600A undergoes dozens of rigorous tests such as packaging testing, impact testing, random vibration testing, high and low temperature testing, humidity testing, salt spray testing, etc. before leaving the factory, ensuring that the product can adapt to various complex industrial application environments and provide users with reliable transmission solutions.
