Selection Guide for INVT GD350-CCS Series Braking Scheme to Match Lifting and Translation Requirements

1. Low power built-in braking unit
The GD350-CCS series ship specific frequency converter with a power range of 30kW to 110kW has a built-in braking unit, which can achieve braking function without additional installation. Users only need to select the corresponding resistance and power braking resistor according to the application scenario to meet the braking needs of translation and light load lifting.

2. Optional high-power external brake
High power models of 132kW and above require an external braking unit to be selected. INVT provides a DBU100H series dedicated braking unit to match it. Larger power models can adopt a dual braking unit parallel scheme to ensure the braking capacity and safety in heavy load scenarios such as ship lifting.

3. Sliding scene braking configuration
For translation applications such as large and small ships, the GD350-CCS series ship specific frequency converter can be equipped with a braking resistor according to the minimum braking torque requirement. The 30kW model is suitable for a minimum braking power of 15kW, with a resistance value of 54 Ω, which can meet the braking needs of conventional translation conditions.

4. Improve the scene braking configuration
For heavy-duty applications such as ship lifting, a braking resistor should be selected according to the requirement of 100% braking torque. The minimum suitable braking power for a 30kW lifting scenario is 7.5kW, with a resistance value of 13 Ω; Users can choose corresponding specifications based on actual load and braking frequency to ensure safe and reliable braking.
